Travelogue Adelaide Day 2: Choccies!

Being spontaneous isn’t something Mich and I can handle. Our spontaneous ‘road trip’ to McLaren Vale led us to the Medlow Confectionery & FruChoc Showcase. >.<

I recall taking a step into the factory and the smell of sugar just hit me. Before I could completely recover, I was welcomed by the staff with a selection of chocolate to taste.

There’s one setback with this factory, though. They offer a wide range of chocolate-coated lollies. Not chocolate. So if you like chocolate-coated gummy bears, chocolate-coated snakes, clangers (you get the picture), this is the place for you.

Mmm... I was bouncing off walls...

In case you are wondering, yes, I got sucked in and left the factory with a bag of honeycomb chocolate!

Travelogue Adelaide Day 1: Let’s improvise!

It was my first day in Adelaide (in 2012 that is) and we rocked up at our initial planned restaurant, starving, only to find it closed! Luckily, we had Plan B. Always have a Plan B.

We ended up at Zapata’s Mexican Restaurant. We were craving Mexican ever since missing out on my last trip to Adelaide. And we did well.

Special Nachos: Tortilla chips with cheese, jalepeno peppers, guacamole, tomato con chilli and sour cream. *hearts* You got to have nachos if you are having Mexican. It was a bit dry though; would have preferred it with a bit more sauce.

Fajitas: Beef and chicken on a sizzling hot plate accompanied by tortillas, salsa, guacamole, frijoles, sour cream and cheese. DIY wraps and catching up with the bestie. Fun times! =)

Travelogue Adelaide Day 1: Artist in Residence

Can you tell? It is a cupcake artist in residence =)

Hot Chocolate and Brownie Fudge consisting of chocolate & raspberry brownie, white chocolate and raspberry ice cream, hershey's hot chocolate fudge sauce, whipped cream and Hershey's chocolate kisses. I have to say, chocolate was so overwhelming in that sundae cup I wasn't able to taste the white chocolate and raspberry ice cream.

Curly fries!!! It is not on the menu but rather, it is on their 'special' outdoor specials board. Curly fries just does it for us, we were happy (note: extremely happy) girls. Other items to try include macarons from theMacFactory as well as homemade icecream. Well I want to try the whoopie pie next and 'everything from the kitchen sink'!!! =)

One day...

Travelogue Adelaide Day 1: AnYeong!

First of our series, Adelaide! We did our homework and it brought us here to Seoul Korean. They are really popular for their bento boxes during lunch hours. I ordered some Korean tea but Jin decided to stick to the basics of green tea.
Despite being ''famous'' for well-presented bento boxes, we went for the seafood pancake. Jin was greatly disappointed, while I tried to ''hunt'' for seafood. I briefly remembered the squid bits and that was it.
And now for the fusion dish-Korean fried rice with cheese! Reminded me heaps of my college years when cheesy fried rice was ''The Thing'', however I would have much preferred this dish with more kimchi.

We gave it much thought and wondered if we would ever come back again to Seoul Korean. Jin was definitely not interested. I thought I would, but for the bento boxes, after all the great reviews on them.
